Articles About Entertaiment

Something that offers pleasure, diversion, or amusement. A ball, a movie, or a crossword puzzle are all examples of entertainment. It may also refer to an agreeable occupation for the mind, or a hospitable provision for the needs and wants of guests. The word is derived from the Latin inter tenere, which means to hold inside, from the Indo-European root ten.

Bates and Ferri (2010) define entertainment as an activity understood objectively, encompassing communication between text and audience from an external stimulus, offering pleasure, requiring an audience, and occurring in a passive form. Entertainment may be adapted to any scale, from personal consumption of pre-recorded products; to banquets for two; to performances for thousands.
